'Feel like you are reliving the same situation over and over again? Now I'm not talking about recalling a location, I am talking about that place within yourself that tells you "Yep, Here I go again...." It never feels good. How do we end up with the same old people, dealing with the same mess over and over again? Of course the particulars may be a bit different, but a lot of times we have to relive the same 'ol same 'ol because we refuse to learn the first time...and then the second time...and then the third time....etc. What we are getting are spiritual do overs. You will need the knowledge you gain from whatever you are dealing with right now to help you in the next. Everyday we have the opportunity to move closer to the person we were created to be (and YES, you have a purpose --believe that). Or we can let today's opportunity slip away There are no short cuts.
I don't believe much happens in life by accident No experience or event is meant to be wasted or exists merely for God's entertainment. Everything can either elevate our understanding or propel us forward - even the bad things. When we know better we should do better but we do what we feel like doing, with the effort we want to extend, in collaboration with the people we want to hang with, and expect the end to be what we were hoping for; nomatter how butt backward the results have proven to be in the past.
Have you ever seen a plant grow in stop motion? It twists and turns like a contortionist
trying to break through the ground. It gets bent in the wind and pummeled by rain, all the while trying to snatch a little sunlight and avoid the bugs that want to eat it and shoes that would crush it. We are very similar, We just have to weather the storms long enough to see what is right and cut loose anything that would impede our moments in the sun.
Here's the thing: Sometimes it hurts to grow, if it didn't more people would do it. Learning, especially when it comes to life is not a passive activity. We have to decide to participate in our own biographies. We have to choose to learn. You can ignore the obvious if you want to, sitting with your head in your hands muttering "Why does this keep happening to me?" or, if you are truly sick and tired of being sick and tired with the way things have been going -- call a time-out. Check your game plan. Assess the quality of your current team members and make some hard choices. Not everyone gets to be Varsity, right?. If you aren't willing to do that get comfortable with having less: less satisfaction, less self-respect, less love, less joy, less peace, less than what you were created for and by your own hand, less than you deserve.
